Manresa Castle

My wife and I were waiting for the bar to open, there was a man washing glasses behind the bar. He looked up and saw us and exited to a room to the right of the bar as he entered the room a women came through the front door from the parking lot, she greeted us and proceeded to unlock I teased her about being late because someone was already working, she smiled and said I work the bar alone, my wife asked who was the man washing dishes, he went into that room off the bar, she invited us to have a look, its the liquor storage closet, no one was there and no other doors out. Later that night we were both awoken by a sickening rose perfume smell, lasted about 30 seconds and was gone.

We had a great time. My sister and I did an early morning snoop on the 3rd floor. We were very quiet. But the floors might have given us away. But “ we ain’t afraid of no ghosts!”
Beautiful castle. We did not see any ghosts. But I’d go back in a heartbeat.

My wife , daughter and I stayed in the room beneath the cupola!
A bottle of prosecco and a plastic cup, was violently knocked off the center table.
I picked them up.
The cup had been crushed, so I opened it up and found " 3 razor like cuts had appeared in it!"
We sat down around the table and used my DVRecorder
I asked who did it and upon playback, you can distinctly hear a female voice say, "It's me!"
No bs, totally real.
I think it's demonic for sure.
Also, I was smothered in my sleep whilst trying to sleep in the little ante room, by the bathroom!

June 2025

I stayed in Room 306 and was on my laptop in the corner of the room video chatting with my girlfriend. Then out of nowhere a ladies voice from about 3 feet behind me and in the direction of the bed said “I’m Hereee…!” And I about crapped my pants. My girlfriend even heard it and thought there was a girl in my room so she made me walk around with the camera to prove there wasn’t. It was clear as day and not my first encounter in that room, just the most significant one.

I saw a dark shadow at the middle window on the bell tower. Don’t ever look at the big mirror in the library too long. I thought I saw flash of a person in the reflection even through there were no one else in the room.
This was all before I found out the history of this place.

March 2025

The first time we stayed in the jumper room. We could hear little girls giggling outside the door at the top of the stairs. My husband felt like someone was moving the headboard around. The room was wheezing and moaning in the ductwork.
The second time we stayed in the room below the turret tower where the monk hung himself. When I walked in the room and sat down, it felt like somebody was running their finger across my neck.
In the morning we woke up to the sound of rope being dragged across the ceiling above us.
And finally, I was visiting and I was walking down some stairs and I wondered “I wonder if it will haunt me.”
All of a sudden, I heard Clank, clank, clank! They made the icemaker go off just as I said that.
The spirits in this hotel love to play if you’re willing.

November 2024

My friend Lili and I took our Classic T-Bird Club on a tour of Manresa Castle. While I gave the members the history of the Castle downstairs, my friend Lili was upstairs in Room 302, which we rented for the night, preparing appetizers and wine. After our members were served their wine and appetizers, then I told "the rest of the story" about the hauntings of Manresa Castle. That evening after I showered and got ready for bed, I turned down Lili's bed in the bedroom. In the morning Lili asked me "Did you bring any flowers with you"?.
No, I replied questioningly". She then asked "Did you brush up against any flowers"? Once again "No". She said "Take a look at this"! Across her bed, and around the bed were scattered purple status. We had also found in Room 302 ONLY, people had been writing their paranormal experiences on the insides, sides, bottoms of all the drawers.

Didn’t sleep that well cause I kept hearing banging from upstairs, keep in mind I stayed in room 308, and as I was sleeping it felt as if someone was pulling at my legs, and my boyfriend next to me said he felt like someone was on top of the sheets.

We got married at Manresa in 2003. Half the photos have orbs or twisted faces. There are a lot of creaks and sounds in an old place, but this place never rests. The bar in the basement is also haunted as a result of its history in San Francisco I believe. The place has changed a lot. The weird game bar in the basement replaced a quaint area, but the vibe remains. We have returned many times. Had toilet paper rolls launch into the suite, wardrobe doors open and close. The "tower" rooms are the busiest for haunts. Beyond the hotel the town hosts old military forts that are also haunted as well as a port area where shop, restaurants and the views are amazing and worth the trip.

September 2024

We went to this hotel for my grandpa's funeral that was close by and me and my mom saw the episode of ghost adventures going to this location and we said let's stay here. During the day we decided to wander around the castle and went up to room 302 (we didn't knock or anything just wanted to see it) and then we went looking around again and found some stairs. We took a picture and there was a shadow figure mist standing on the stairs and before we even looked at the picture I decided to walk up the stairs. And had a really eerie feeling and then heard a bang on the door that was up there. We immediately ran back to our room down stairs and looked at the pictures and we saw the picture with the shadow figure mist and got really excited about it. It was an amazing yet scary feeling and I would definitely go back again
