The Paradise Inn has become a popular destination for mountain hikers and tourists alike. It is believed that the ghosts of those who lost their lives on Mount Rainier reside at this resort. Guests at the hotel report a feeling of being watched by an unseen presence. Even the staff has voiced their certainty of a spectral presence. The sound of furniture scraping the floor and hushed whispers are often heard at this resort.

I'm the baker at Paradise Inn, and was walking to my quarters above the kitchen earlier tonight around 12:30 through the oldest part of the building, which was originally the living quarters for the rangers and their families. With the exceptions of my daughter, who was downstairs at the front desk working, and our night security guard, who was in the main entry next to her, I was the only person up and about in that side of the building. I was about a hundred feet down the hall, and upstairs from them, when somebody whistled very clearly, twice, right into my ear. I didn't need to turn around and look to know there was nobody behind me. The floor in that hall is a hundred years old and creaks when you walk on it. Of course I looked anyway, and sure enough, was absolutely by myself. I turned around and went back to tell my daughter about my experience and she just shrugged her shoulders at me and told me that the place is known to have permanent residents and referred me to our website for more info about it. I have no doubt in my mind that there definitely is something to that claim.
