Apparitions of deceased coal miners and swinging lanterns have been known to appear late at night in this cemetery. Eerie whistling sounds and hazy, supernatural fog have been documented by ghost enthusiasts. There have also been reports of a white horse that weaves in and out of the tombstones.

  • I knew it well.

My grandma’s house was down the road I spent a lot of time here. One because I have family burned there and it’s a short, short walk. Also because I don’t remember any playgrounds in Black Diamond when I was young so there it was and a great place for hide and good seek (behind the stones). I had a friend interested in ghost and he went to the cemetery with a family picture and got a blurred camera instantly when he went over the person next to his gravestone. The funny thing was he didn’t know it the person in the picture because it was a group photo and he was asked which person he was in the photo). I think the graveyard is calm. It’s the house down the road that terrified me and I never said anything when I was a child. I found out later on other family members had been scared too.

  • Creepy after dark but quite peaceful

I went with my best friend around midnight and we walked around for about an hour. It was kind of creepy at first but going in was actually peaceful and quiet. Made for a nice midnight stroll but didn't see or experience anything weird.

  • Worth checking out

We visited late afternoon in early June, the sun was still shining. Both myself and my partner felt completely at ease here and did not experience any oppressiveness or bad vibes. No physical aches or pains either. We both experienced the same pinwheel spinning, when there was little to no breeze. I had just finished taking a photograph and happen to catch it spinning quite fast out the corner of my eye. I watched it for a few seconds before turning to my partner to tell them to look. By the time I turned back around it was dead still. I decided to test the looseness of the pinwheel by blowing on it and it didn’t move very much at all, it was quite stiff and not loose enough to spin freely on its own. Not long after I walked away to take more photos and as my partner turned to leave, they also witnessed the pinwheel spin briefly. Again, no wind. It stopped her in her tracks. We continued to watch the pinwheel for a few more minutes but witnessed no further movement. We spent about 2 hours walking around, taking photos. Upon checking the photos at home we did discover some unusual light flares, one of which looked eerily like a head, collared neck and shoulders. We’re definitely keen to head back after dark.

  • Sick feeling

I went with some friends and although it was 4p and the sun was still out, it was still spooky. There’s houses to the west but their alittle wooded. When you’re there you get a sharp headache and your chest will become very heavy. We heard trees snapping and whispering too. Will definitely be going back!
