Visitors of Point Defiance Park swear they have encountered the ghost of Jennifer Bastian, a fourteen year old girl who went missing in 1986. Her body was discovered off the main road of five mile drive. It is believed her ghost comes out at night and stands on the side of the road with her bike. Witnesses have claimed that her eye sockets are empty and she smiles eerily at anyone who passes her. There have also been reports of an apparition of a man. According to legend, he committed suicide after his wife drowned in the lake. The pagoda has also attracted the attention of ghost enthusiasts. It is said that disembodied footsteps and cold spots surround the pagoda.

5/7/25 We drove the 5 mile Pt Defiance drive. Close to the end on a quiet straight away, no others cars, people; I started hearing a knocking on the car from left rear and started coming up to the top of the rear window. To wife "what's that", she kind of tuned in looking at windows. knocking continued to my window I'm looking at/following the knocking, it continues across our front windshield over to my wife's side, pauses, then knocks continued to the rear of the car and done. What was that? Both dumb founded, we didn't know what the heck. It was was a fairly solid, not faint, maybe about 12 to 15 urgent knocks. Later I did a quick research and there are reports of seeing a girl, dark eye sockets and her bike in hauntings. A girl was killed and found along the main road we were on. And I did read of other reports of window knocking.

I Love scary Haunted places so I wanted to come here, And my grandma said she might want to come. I looked at her like she was crazy, All I wanted to do there was investigate And have fun (And hopefully not die.) But my grandma? is she ready for this? She would have a heart attack.

My friends and I went hiking down at Owen's Beach we were there all day and it started to get dark so we tried to get out of the park before it closed when we finally made it to the road where we parked it was dark and it was starting to sprinkle and when we got in the car and headed to the exit about 75 yards behind us my friend who was driving looked into the rear view mirror and said who is that behind us we all looked and yes we all said a few words that I can't say on here but what we seen scared the h*** out of us it was a girl with her bike where her eyes should have been was so black it looked like chuncks of coal and a eerie half smirk smile. Scared my friend so bad he speaks out of the park it took us 4 guys almost 10 years to go back to the park and would always go back down there but my friend Alex who was driving that was his last time he will never go back there it scared him that bad.
